“After a winter of doing deep dives into traditional Japanese poetic forms of tanka and haiku, and a two-week trip to Japan in the spring of 2023, l began a body of work that focuses on singular moments of immediate presence. Touchstones in the work might be thought of as attention, impermanence, outward phenomena and inner reflection.”
