“Current threads in my work explore the subject of vessels as symbols of immediacy and the emotional weight they carry. This evolved out of a practice of noticing the subtle topographies created on mudflats by resting boats at low tide and a fascination with Chinese and Japanese classical poetry in which the interior life is depicted through representation of the exterior presence of the natural world and the objects we hold dear.”
